Love It

I purchased an 8 bottle carrier. Took 4 bottles in one cavity and packed some clothes in the other. My 08 silver Oak, beckstoffer to Kalon from Alpha Omega and a couple of it’s friends arrived on the Big Island of Hawaii in great shape. Loved it so much, I bought a 12 bottle for a longer trip and an 8 bottle for my brother!

Best wine travel case there is ...

... and I’ve tried a bunch. The dense foam inserts are excellent and the various options make magnum or different bottle types (e.g. burgundy vs Bordeaux bottle types) very maneuverable. Life’s too short to drink sub par local wine, or wildly over priced wine in vacation locales. This solves that. I now have a 12 bottle and 8 bottle version depending on how long my trip is, and you can always pack clothes on one side of the case. The TSA locks are a great addition, although I must admit my wine suitcase missed the flight for my last 2 trips because of security or other secondary TSA inspections and had to be sent on a later flight (despite checking the bag well over an hour before the flight time). Otherwise, it’s the best travel case bar none.

Travel with Wine

This was my first purchase of a 5 bottle case that also allows for some clothes or other items. I have mentioned these products to friends who have purchased the larger cases that hold 12 bottles. I have and will use this case mostly when cruising. It is great for taking wine on board or when traveling in other parts of the World collecting wine and bring it back home. So far it has been a great product and the website is very easy to use and reviewing of products.

Although I have yet to use the case, I filled it with 5 bottles when I got home. It’s a very nice and well built case. There are so many different sized bottles on the market now days, I had to swap out bottles until I found a standard Bordeaux bottle. Once I found the right bottles, everything fit really well. I have already bought 3 suitcases from FlyWithWine, a 12 bottle and an 8 bottles for our use and a 12 bottle as a gift to friends. Our 12 bottles have already seen multiple trips to Europe, Argentina and the Caribbean and it is holding very well. In every trip the bottles arrived in perfect shape (no breakage!) I like the construction of the suitcases, and the wheels are of excellent quality. One nice detail is that you get a small phillips screwdriver to install the straps. Highly recommend this product. They are pricey but excellent quality.

A lovely multipurpose carryon suitcase!

First off, customer service is top notch! Staff were very responsive and sent me the HomingPin accessory that was missing from my shipment right away. So far I've used the Piccolo as check-in luggage between SF and NYC and the bag fit the carryon sizes for Alaska Airlines and JetBlue. Both carryon sizes seemed a bit more generous than the airlines' current dimension restrictions of 22"×14"x9". I used the insert for the 2 bottles, traveling with 2 bottles of wine each way, and the insert, added with the foam sheet and interior luggage clasps secured my wine. I didn't use the exterior luggage straps and didn't feel it was necessary for 2 bottles of wine. However, for 5 packed bottles, that may be a good idea since there's significant weight on one side of the luggage. The results: My Piccolo did receive some scars and scuffs but the exterior shell seems quite tough and durable and I didn't notice any cracks. Believe me, I did a thorough inspection of the entire surface area of the suitcase. The handle is easy to retract and is strong even though there were times I worried it would break from tilting and wheeling the packed suitcase at an angle to maneuver up inclines. The wheels were smooth and rolled easily. The carrying handles on both sides of the suitcase are also very strong and made lifting/retrieving easy. However, they're not comfortable for prolonged carrying, at least not with my small hands. As for design improvements, I recommend revisiting the construction and layout of the handles so perhaps they lay flat against the sides to save space. I also recommend looking at how to trim the exterior dimensions further without compromising the capacity to securely fit 5 bottles of wine. For airlines that are very strict about carryon size limits, the handles (and wheels) can make the minor difference between being able to bring the suitcase on board vs. being required to check in the bag at the gate and pay a fee. So far, I am very satisfied with the Piccolo and look forward to many more trips with it in the future. I feel classy with this suitcase. I hope it will be offered in other colors along with design/dimension improvements. I also hope VGV will make foam inserts for the Piccolo that are customizable for different bottles as well as make the 2-bottle and 3-bottle inserts available for individual purchase.

Functional & beautiful luggage piece.

The Grande 12 bottle / V.5 case is a handsome & functional luggage piece. I am very satisfied with my purchase & will remain so as long as the case is truly durable and holds up to the 10 year warranty. I will use the case to carry wine/liquor on international long haul trips about 5 times per year so the durability & quality of construction will definitely be tested. The case does appear to be very well made.

Wonderful, Versatile piece of luggage

The petite 8 bottle was a purchase that was long overdue. The struggle to find wine bags that didn't properly seal or didn't fit the odd size bottles is gone. Travelling with wine across the border presents challenges but the petite 8 bottle wine suitcase allows me to use all 8 spots for wine when travelling with 4 people, keeping me legal or to swap out one half and use it for clothes when travelling with just my wife and still have room for 4 bottles that I know will arrive safe at the other end of my trip. Grande 12 bottle carrier

Our Grande 12 bottle carrier arrived within 2 days of ordering as promised which was great since I used it the very next day. It accommodated the 12 bottles I was bringing to my son and was very easy to maneuver in the airport. Our only problem was it was overweight by 1 lb so I had to move a bottle into our other piece of luggage. I will only fill with 11 bottles in the future. Otherwise, I am completely satisfied!

Best purchase of our trip!

Very high quality

Problems with petite eight

We used the suitcase once. When it was picked up from baggage claim - the straps were loose on the ground ( they did not stay around the case. The lock zippers were out and the lock not longer works. If this is the result of one trip I am afraid to use it on additional flights. Very disappointed

Excellent product and service - Instructions have room for improvement

The suitcase looks sturdy and beautiful. The first trip will be experienced in just a few weeks, thus durability and function have not been tested as of yet. Upon receipt, no instruction to open the TSA lock were present or readily available at our fingertips, a fact which created some tension between the gifter and the giftee (wife and husband, respectively). Wife went searching for possible solutions, while hubby was kind of disappointed, making the experience a bit underwhelming. Found the answer in the website, only after leaving messages at the contact people listed in the brochure. BTW, these messages where answered several days after... Corrective action suggested: Include a small card with instructions for the TSA lock. Thank you!
